Digital Media SaaS Platform Amagi Acquires Argoid AI

The move will enhance Amagi’s broadcast and streaming solutions for media and entertainment companies.

Amagi, a SaaS company headquartered in Bengaluru, announced its acquisition of Argoid AI, a company that develops recommendation engines and programming automation for media streaming platforms. The move aims to boost Amagi’s product suite functionality.

Amagi offers channel creation, content planning, distribution and monetization solutions to media companies, including clients like A+E Networks UK, ABS-CBN, Astro and Cox Media Group. Argoid’s AI-powered products work to help media companies increase viewer engagement and optimize channel operations. Its tech aims to improve content recommendations and enable programming decisions in real-time.

“With this acquisition, Amagi will integrate Argoid’s AI components into its award-winning cloud solutions, significantly enhancing value for our customers,” Baskar Subramanian, Amagi’s co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “The combined tech expertise of both companies will address key challenges in the streaming industry, such as content discoverability, viewer retention and intelligent programming.”

The move aims to strengthen Amagi’s product offerings, including Amagi NOW and CLOUDPORT. Alongside helping media companies make personalized content scheduling decisions, the move enables Amagi to further its AI services, including content programming, metadata enrichment and a recommendation engine.
