TV streaming platform Roku recently announced the opening of its Bengaluru office. Its new facility, located in Embassy Golf Links Business Park in Challaghatta, will act as a key innovation hub for the company. The region is also home to a network of other tech industry players.

Roku is a streaming platform supporting viewers across North America, Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific. The company works to connect viewers to content and allow content publishers to monetize large audiences. Roku also equips advertisers with tools to help them better engage customers. The company has streaming devices in more than 80 million households.

Bengaluru’s culture and growing tech scene were key factors that led to Roku’s decision to expand its presence into the city. Its office’s location near institutions such as the Vermana Institute of Technology and PES University will help Roku seek out skilled engineering talent.

Roku’s new office will focus on advancing technology, software engineering, machine learning and product development. The company is currently building out its Bengaluru team with engineers who will work on functions spanning advertising, cloud, platform, devices, Roku’s operating system and streaming innovations.
