Sustainiam Raises $1.45M for Climate Tech

Sustainiam will put the capital toward the launch of a platform for trading environmental assets as well as expanding its workforce.

Sustainability-focused tech startup Sustainiam has announced a maiden funding round totaling $1.45 million, according to reporting by Entrackr

Orios Venture Partners, a Mumbai-based venture fund that invests in tech startups across the B2B, B2C, software and hardware sectors, led the round, with contributions from several angel investors.

Based out of offices in Bengaluru and San Francisco, Sustainiam provides businesses with carbon management technology and other solutions that help them prioritize sustainability and address climate challenges. The company plans to put its new backing toward the launch of a platform for trading environmental assets. Funding will also be invested in expanding Sustainiam’s workforce and global operations.

“We firmly believe in team Sustainiam’s vision of enhancing transparency in carbon trading both within India and on a global scale. We are confident that this team possesses all the essential qualities needed to develop a platform that can achieve global leadership,” said Sukhmani Bedi, Partner at Orios Venture Partners, said in a statement posted to LinkedIn.
