About the department
Finance Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore was established in 2007, is currently responsible for supporting Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Commercial Analytics, Financial Planning & Analytics for Head Quarters at Denmark, Region Europe, North America, International Operations & Global Service Centre Bangalore. Commercial Analytics is part of Finance GBS and was founded in June 2013 with the idea of establishing a team consisting of dedicated analytics professionals to provide the best-in-class analytical services and insights to the global organization. The main purpose of our existence is to provide superior service to our stakeholders consistently and add value to the processes in terms of standardization and efficiency.
The position
As a Data Scientist at Novo Nordisk, you will:
Design and implement supervised and unsupervised machine learning models to address business challenges and opportunities. Deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

  • Monitor the performance of deployed models, adjusting and updating as necessary to maintain accuracy and efficiency, and maintain documentation of the same.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python or R using appropriate IDEs to streamline the development process.
  • Leverage Databricks and Snowflake platforms to manage pharma big datasets. Apply best practices in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for model deployment.
  • Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with peers to promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Use Power BI interactive dashboard to share insights that effectively communicate the findings and value of the models to stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentations to drive critical business meetings to display business insights and recommendations in line with a thorough understanding of market dynamics.


Qualifications
To be our new Data Scientist, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's / master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Any Data science certification from a reputed institute would be a plus.
  • Minimum 5 to 6 years of experience with advanced analytics.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models, with at least 2 to 3 deployments in a professional setting.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or R, with experience using one or more IDEs (e.g., Jupyter, RStudio, PyCharm, Visual Studio Code).
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their machine learning offerings.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of additional data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Demonstrated experience with Databricks/Snowflake or similar platforms for large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Intermediate expertise in Power BI for Data visualization and reporting insights.
