About your team

The Department is responsible for acquisition and distribution of data for GPS business including Web, Client Interface, Data, Record Keeping and Transfer Agency systems of the Distributions offering. The core engine allows dealing, income distributions, payment processing, customer accounting and record keeping etc. The team works on data warehousing and distribution and now evolving to data lake concepts

About your role
This position is for Analytics engineer to work in the Data Analytics team within the GPS Technology group. The role will be responsible to perform the data analysis, implement the analytics and machine learning solutions You will be crucial in supporting our business by creating valuable, actionable insights about the data, and communicating your findings to the business. You will work with various stakeholders to determine how to use business data for business solutions/insights.Relationship management skills for the various business contacts for the area will be important to ensure a superior service to our clients is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with upstream data sources to understand data lifecycle, data grain and transform it to make to fit for purpose.
  • Analysis of various data entities to be on-boarded to the platform to meet business requirements and work with platform team for data on-boarding activities.
  • Creation of Logical and Physical data model to support data on-boarding of different data sets.
  • Business Analysis of data and related processes, understand data flows and define data on-boarding solution for the platform.
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
  • Data quality expertise to identify and remediate issues in source data.
  • Understanding of data analysis principles to create effective, accurate and concise models to implement data analytics rules or features.
  • Analysis of data sets to define implementation approach and evaluation methodologies for analytics features on the platform.
  • Working continuously with business teams to close analytics requirements, implement the model and refine the outcomes of models in implementation phase.
  • Implement and support development of Machine Learning models.
  • Analysing current information in the platform to find patterns and provide insights on the customer behaviour and guide the rule development.
  • Experience with Data Visualization Tools that help to visually encode data
  • Supporting investigation of user queries and complete detailed investigations to understand root causes.

Required Skills

  • 8-10 years business analysis or data analyst experience
  • Proficiency on Financial services datasets
  • Fair idea of Agile methodology, familiar with Stories – requirements artefact,ceremonies
  • Experience writing code in Python to implement data analytics features and machine learning models.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics libraries and frameworks (Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
  • Experience working in building data pipelines.
  • Good understanding of data modelling principles and experience in creating data models
  • Working experience in data platforms with real time data ingestion or data warehouse
  • Technical skills - Python, SQL, Athena, Understanding of AWS managed services.
  • Strong expertise in AWS and working knowledge of analytics and machine learning services (Glue, Sage Maker).
  • Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop ecosystem, Spark)
  • Presenting results in a clear manner
  • Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges
  • Collaborate with Business and IT teams
  • Data Wrangling – proficiency in handling imperfections in data is an important aspect of a data scientist job description.
  • Excellent inter-personal, communication, documentation, facilitation & presentation skills
