Manage global accounts payable and general ledger activities, including invoice processing, payments, journal entries, reconciliations, tax compliance, intercompany transactions, employee expenses, and month-end close. The role supports audits, SOX controls, financial reporting, vendor management, and process improvements across multiple entities, currencies, and time zones.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Global Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL) Specialist to support our worldwide finance operations. The ideal candidate will have strong end-to-end AP processing knowledge, solid GL accounting experience, and the ability to work across multiple geographies, currencies, and time zones. This role will support month-end close, global AP operations, compliance, audits, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end AP processes including invoice validation, 3-way matching, posting, and payment runs.
- Perform daily/monthly GL accounting, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications.
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, tax compliance (WHT/TDS, GST/VAT), and appropriate approvals.
- Monitor aging, resolve vendor queries, and maintain vendor master data.
- Coordinate with procurement and business teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Support global payment cycles and ensure compliance with company policies and SOX/internal controls.
- Process employee expense claims and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for global entities.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in intercompany transactions, confirmations, and reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP & GL processes and Support implementation of automation tools or ERP enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in AP and GL roles, preferably in a global or shared service environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Netsuite is an added advantage).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, multi-currency accounting, and month-end close processes.
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
- Excellent communication skills for working with global stakeholders and vendors.
