Associate Hardware Engineer

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

In this role you will design printed circuit board layouts, associated manufacturing file and maintain the component library database. Candidate will work with other Engineers as part of a larger product development and sustaining engineering team.

As a curious, successful candidate you will operate independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly technical environment and work on cross-functional projects. You are highly self-motivated and capable of combining the efforts of the team to support innovative designs and differentiated technology.
 

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Designing Printed Circuit Board footprints/layouts from Electrical schematics.
• Managing component library – create new symbols and sustain existing components.
• Working with Component Engineering Team on component selections.
• Supporting Engineering Design reviews, and failure analysis activities.

Skills you bring:

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Expert in circuit design, reading manufacturer datasheets, and designing multilayer PCBA stackups.
• Expert with PADS or equivalent PCB layout software
• Understanding of the PCBA manufacturing process and familiarity with IPC industry standards.
• Basic understanding of electromagnetics and interactions between fields, voltages, currents, and materials.
• Basic understanding of electrical measurements and equipment, voltmeter, and oscilloscope.
• Soldering experience preferred.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 80% of the time
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
• This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment
