Role : Product development engineer – Oil filters. 

Role Definition : Designing, developing, and testing oil filters for engines, transmission, and hydraulic applications, focusing on optimizing filtration efficiency, contaminant removal, and overall performance while considering factors like material selection, filter design, and manufacturing processes

Key responsibilities :

• Design and development:
  • Creating new oil filter designs based on engine requirements, considering factors like oil flow rate, contaminant size, and operating temperatures.
  • Selecting appropriate filter media materials (paper, synthetic fibers) to achieve desired filtration efficiency.
  • Designing filter housing components like seals, anti-drainback valves, and bypass valves.
  • Conduct thorough bench marking studies by analyzing competitor products, industry standards, and emerging trends.
  • Collect & Analyze quantitative and qualitative data on product Features & Applications.
  • Create and maintain a bench marking database, regularly updating it with new market intelligence and product comparisons.
• Testing and analysis:
  • basic understanding of laboratory tests filter performance.
  • Analyzing test data to identify areas for improvement and optimize filter design.
  • Performing field testing on vehicles to validate filter performance under real-world conditions.
• Material selection:
  • Researching and evaluating new materials for filter media, seals, and housing components to improve filter performance and durability.
  • Assessing material compatibility with engine oils and operating environments.
• Manufacturing support:
  • Collaborating with production engineers to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing of oil filters.
  • Identifying potential manufacturing challenges and proposing solutions.

Qualifications

Required skills and qualifications:

Technical expertise: Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, filtration principles, engine design, and material science. 

Engineering design: basic knowledge in CAD software and ability to create and review detailed engineering drawings.

Analytical skills: Ability to interpret test data and analyze performance metrics.

Problem-solving: Identifying and resolving design challenges related to oil filter performance.

Project management: Managing design projects from concept to production.

Qualification : BE Mechanical / Automobile, Min Experience in similar industry– 5 years.
