Job Introduction:
The AUTOSAR Base Software Expert will be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of AUTOSAR-compliant base software components for embedded automotive systems. This role involves working closely with hardware engineers, application software developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless operation of the base software layer, which includes operating systems, drivers, and middleware.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Software Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain AUTOSAR base software components, including operating systems, device drivers, and middleware.
- Implement and configure AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) modules according to project requirements.
- Utilize AUTOSAR configuration tools DaVinci Configurator and developer for BSW configuration and code generation.
- Lead and coordination of all BSW activities and tasks for OEM projects
2. Integration and Testing:
- Integrate AUTOSAR base software components with hardware and application software.
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of the AUTOSAR base software.
- Debug and resolve issues related to AUTOSAR base software components.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting of embedded systems using debugging tools like Lauterbach and Trace32.
3. Requirements Analysis & Design:
- Analyze system requirements and translate them into BSW specifications.
- Design and implement effective and efficient BSW solutions.
- Document software design and implementation details clearly and concisely.
4. Collaboration:
- Lead team of BSW engineers, moderate Agile teams, plan, allocate and track tasks
- Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure proper integration of software and hardware components.
- Collaborate with application software developers to provide a stable and efficient AUTOSAR base software platform.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AUTOSAR standards and base software technologies.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance the performance, security, and maintainability of AUTOSAR base software components.
6. Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure AUTOSAR base software components comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Follow company policies and procedures related to software development and quality assurance
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in Electronics/ Electrical/ECE or a related field Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in embedded software development or a related role.
- Proven experience with AUTOSAR base software development and configuration.
Skills:
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and familiarity with AUTOSAR tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in embedded systems development and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Experience with hardware-software integration and debugging tools.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C) and hardware interfaces.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- SDLC and Agile Lifecycle
- Prior project experience working with Major OEMs
- (Optional) German Language skill
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in AUTOSAR or embedded systems are a plus.
