• We are seeking a talented and motivated Avaloq Software Engineer to join our team. As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing software and data structures while ensuring quality and performance standards. You will collaborate with other teams to support data migration, cleansing and enrichment, building and testing scripts, and reconciliation routines

• You’ll be experienced in Avaloq technologies, database management, and software development and have a deep understanding of the Avaloq Enterprise Wide Object Model

What you'll do

• Your work will be varied and will major in Avaloq and related technologies. Duties may include:

• Mapping Avaloq and other platform physical data to the NatWest Enterprise Data Model, taking care to ensure conceptual terms are clearly defined and reference data standards are adhered to.

• Performing data quality checks on data according to defined dimensions and rules and develop options to enhance data quality – including developing Avaloq system functionality to mitigate the risk of poor data quality being introduced at source.

• Support options analysis, build and maintain persistent data profiling capability over master data sources, connecting with remote rule and results repositories.

• Work to optimise the outcomes of the Avaloq APDM, reviewing discarded items and defining treatment strategies as required and optimising rules and system performance also work to interface the APDM with external data minimisation orchestration systems.

• Design and recommend data quality treatment strategies, delivering mass-data manipulation scripts and accompanying test and reconciliation routines and Analyse and clarify business requirements to develop fit for purpose software solutions.

• Provide technical analysis support and solutions for change requests and incidents, including making functional enhancements the Avaloq Core Platform.

• Work with business and technology stakeholders to build support for technology change and build and maintain routines to deliver synthetic data into test environments.

• Manage the processing of market data into the ACP via third party solutions.

Additionally, you’ll:

Contribute to the development and realisation of the future data architecture of the NatWest Group and Be familiar with data architecture best practice, including data mesh and data product patterns, using your skills and experience to influence quick, stable and persistent value realisation. Develop applications with Oracle APEX and other rapid application development frameworks.

The skills you'll need

• Deep knowledge and experience of the Avaloq EWOM (Enterprise-Wide Object Model), APDM/W (Automated Personal Data Wiping/ Management)

• Expertise in managing and executing data migration projects in Avaloq environments, ensuring successful data transfer and system integration.

• Should be proficient with ACCP (Major in Core), PL/SQL, and Avaloq Script, enabling efficient programming, debugging, and query management.

• Require expereince on Data modelling, metadata management and data quality principles

• Solid experience with APEX (Application Express) for building scalable and secure web applications.

• Familiarity with banking industry data and regulatory requirements is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
