Business Intelligence Manager (Finance)

The Center of Excellence “Business Intelligence” (CoE BI) is the link between business and IT service providers and, in the course of creating BI applications, brings together information from various data sources and makes it available to the organization's decision-makers in processed form with the help of advanced BI systems.

The CoE BI is responsible for coordinating the infrastructure with the IT provider(s), including the required interfaces, but not for the quality of the data collected in the upstream systems themselves.

The primary objective of the function is to fully support the Center of Excellence Business Intelligence, in particular the support of reports in the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), as well as support for finance transformation reporting and FME25 reporting.

Furthermore, this function involves being responsible for BI processes & services and maintaining the corresponding results documents (SAC user documentation, SAC LifeCycle Management & SAC authorization concepts).

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of BI specialists, ensuring optimal performance and development.

• Oversee the end-to-end process of mathematical modeling to support data-driven decision-making.

• Manage the design and implementation of complex business logic in SAP BW onHana/SAP Datasphere.

• Ensure the stability and critical management of BI reporting applications, particularly in SAP Analytics Cloud.

• Supervise quality assurance processes, production releases, and maintenance of BI applications.

• Analyze deviations from BI templates and propose solutions for approval by business process owners or architects.

• Oversee the preparation, execution, and support of user tests in the Business Intelligence domain, including international locations.

• Manage incident handling and ensure efficient 1st level support for BI-related issues.

• Drive documentation processes, ensuring comprehensive records of BI applications, workflows, and decisions.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Completion of assigned work packages in time, budget & quality

• Adherence to planned milestones, taking into account technical requirements in the execution of projects in the business intelligence environment

• Risks are addressed in good time and countermeasures are initiated

• Independent creation of solution approaches and their execution within the given framework & coordination with the supervisor

• Creation and maintenance/updating of BI result documents

Success-critical qualifications, experience, 'know-how' and skills

• Degree in economics, industrial engineering or business informatics, statistics, physics

• At least 6+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related fields.

• Proven team management experience, leading and developing BI teams.

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and their application in BI projects.

• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting management information systems, standard reporting, and data visualization tools.

• In-depth knowledge of SAP BI front-end tools, SAP Business Warehouse (or similar BI back-end systems).

• Strong understanding of machine learning, mathematical modeling, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics (a strong advantage).

• Experience in the development and implementation of BI strategies, BI templates, and governance processes.

• Ability to manage and optimize BI reporting solutions to meet business needs effectively.
