Description:
In collaboration with teammates in OEM Obsolescence Purchasing and Engineering, the OEM Obsolescence Buyer will manage a set of long-term projects towards successful implementation of replacement parts without disruption to the Applied Materials factory.
In addition to the regular purchasing skills, this position requires the following abilities:
- Management of a high-mix project portfolio in a complex environment
- Supply chain analysis using internal databases and conversations with external stakeholders
- Facilitate Engineering in implementing phased changes to BOM structure
- Creatively solve supply interruptions at the lowest possible cost
- Guide diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders with divergent goals to a sustainable consensus.
- Supplier negotiation to arrange efficient and cost-effective solutions to supply chain disruptions
- Present persuasive business cases and make financially sound decisions.
- Creation of project charters for projects that may exceed $10M over 5 years.
- Monitoring and auditing of inventory held at various global locations via monthly reports.
- Interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing, Spares, Commodity Business Managers, Product Line Managers, Legal, and Finance.
- Hold stakeholders accountable in a complex process while working to design and implement process improvements.
- Use of Excel pivot tables and v-lookups
