Title: Content Editor - CyberRegs
Summary:
Sphera Content Editors are responsible for monitoring a variety of external sources and capturing relevant content for our regulatory compliance software products. The product is a subscription portal that companies use throughout the world to maintain compliance with laws and regulations in various jurisdictions. Daily editing and updating of internal content in response to regulatory or legislative changes, and ensuring 100% accuracy in the work product are key priorities for this role.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Monitor and update full text versions of laws and regulations in the Environmental, Health, Safety & Transportation topics at the federal, state and international level.
• Follow procedures for processing content through proprietary workflow applications.
• Self-manage a constantly shifting list of priorities.
• Perform quality assurance reviews of peer and own documents.
• Convert various document types (i.e. PDF, Word, web pages) into specific HTML format.
• Master in-house software for collecting and publishing content.
• Maintain all required task and currency logs on a daily basis.
• Report technical issues and workflow slowdowns to management.
• Occasionally research and resolve assigned customer service issues.
• Occasionally write or edit procedural manuals and documentation.
Education/Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred in related fields of technical writing, English, journalism, web development, environmental, legal, or engineering)
• Excellent command of English language (written and verbal)
• Accomplished editing or content management skills
• At least 1 year of experience in professional editing, content management, or HTML/XML preferred
• Accomplished in MS Office (focus on Word), HTML editing software (e.g. MS Expression, MS Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc.), and familiarity with OCR software.
• Familiarity with advanced search-and-replace techniques (e.g. macros, wildcards, and/or regular expressions) a plus
• Ability to learn new systems quickly
• Keen eye for detail; produce thorough and accurate work product
• Natural problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment requiring multitasking in pressure situations, with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• General understanding of governmental regulations or environmental/health/safety a plus
