Summary: As an Application Lead, you will lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that application development aligns with organizational goals, overseeing project timelines, and facilitating communication among stakeholders to drive project success. You will also engage in problem-solving activities, ensuring that the applications meet the required standards and specifications while fostering a collaborative environment for your team. Roles & Responsibilities: - Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding - Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures - Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning - Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts - Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives - Design, implement and maintain different AWS services - Automating code with object oriented software engineering principles - Work across the full spectrum of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Actively contribute to planning sessions and other Agile ceremonies across the team - Liaise with users and stakeholders of the platform - Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health - Run core banking ledger and switch systems with the domain knowledge to run mission critical systems - Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications in AWS and Azure - Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions. Execute chaos tests, performance benchmark tests and functional tests. - Build non functional and functional test frameworks for testing various communication protocols like HTTPS, Kafka (AVRO / JSON), AS2805 (SNMP), ODBC, MQ - Measure and optimize system performance and reliability, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement. - Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications - Build and run automation on components in AWS and Azure - Uplift logging, cyber security and reliability – designing strategies and patterns around achieving them - Run post mortem incidents via data, objectively and mathematically measure failures and arrive at root cause analysis with the remediation mechanisms that ensures the same incident doesn’t occur again. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Site Reliability Engineering. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with Java Full Stack Development. - Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and services. - Experience with monitoring and incident response tools. - 3+ years of AWS / Azure experience - 5+ years in application development and support - Strong Experience in Scripting, Linux and CI/CD preferably Jenkins - Strong programming skills with Python and groovy - Infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Github and Ansible - Ability to assess and implement new technologies and processes. - Domain Knowledge/Experience - Mainly in Banking. - Software Engineering Experience - Development background (End-to-end delivery) - Should also have design mindset. - Operations and Support - Deep Knowledge and experience into Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). - Automation Capabilities - Significant automations using any scripting tool. - Expert in any Cloud Technology - Azure/AWS/GCP.
