Job Description

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Expeditors’ is seeking a curious and self-motivated business intelligence analyst to execute on our technical roadmap and build scalable, sustainable data solutions. This role will support the Account Management department and Expeditors’ largest Global Accounts by sourcing and shaping data to bring our stakeholders’ visions to reality.

  • Communication
    • Partner closely with Account Managers and understand their needs in order to build intelligent data solutions. 
    • Demonstrate solutions in a customer-facing environment.
    • Effectively bridge the gap between technical and non-technical users. 
    • Intake project requests and grasp both the big picture and fine details. 
    • Maintain project list and successfully convey status, timelines, priorities, and future projects.
    • Collaborate with the team to deliver best practice sharing and ongoing improvements. 
    • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Expeditors Business Acumen
    • Build knowledge of the logistics industry and Expeditors' specific business. 
    • Build relationships with various stakeholders across departments.
  • Analytical Mindset
    • Understand stakeholder’s business needs and processes and translate them into requirements for data solutions to help provide insights for customers. 
    • Ability to use logic to problem solve and troubleshoot and clearly relay issues to stakeholders.
    • Ensure data quality and data integrity. 
    • Keep up with new and emerging tools. 
    • Write SQL to source data from Expeditors’ data warehouse.
    • Use business intelligence tools to:
      • Combine data from multiple sources
      • Transform the structure of data to meet business needs.
      • Build formulas and measures for calculations.
      • Visualize data to tell effective data stories and unlock actionable insights.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Required Skills and Attributes
      • Bachelor’s degree required
      • Minimum 5 to 10 Years
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills – ability to relate to employees at all levels
      • Strong analytical skills
      • Strong technical skills (Advanced Excel, Power BI)
      • Ability to design creative solutions to meet business needs
    • Desired Skill-Sets and Characteristics
      • 4 Year degree in a quantitative field, business, or similar concentration
      • Proficient in SQL, preferred but not necessary
      • Experience with data visualization tool (Power BI or Tableau)
      • Comfortable presenting data to non-data users

    • Constantly improve knowledge of Expeditors’ operational procedures, systems, and technologies.
    • Maintain a minimum of 52 hours of training annually with a focus on systems training and operations.
    • Cross-training on other areas of personal development.
