About Team: Enterprise Data Management is a part of ETO (Enterprise Technology Organization) which caters to data engineering and analytics solutions for various groups and divisions within Thermofisher Scientific.

What will you do?

As a data engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening our data engineering capabilities delivering data engineering pipelines and solutions through Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) for various groups and divisions.

General Job Functions

• Perform source to target data analysis and mappings.
• Collaborate with admins, developers, data engineers and analysts for successful functionality delivery.
• Perform requirement analysis and co-ordinate with project managers and development team to drive the delivery cycle.
• Collaborate with the scrum master on product backlogs and helps with sprint planning.
• Builds and tests data pipelines for various use-cases (real-time and batch) depending on the requirements.
• Supports the evolution of EDP architecture and takes part in roadmap activities around data platform architecture initiatives or changes.
• Collaborate with leadership and partners to ensure data quality and integrity in DWH & AWS platforms for BI/Analytical reporting.
• Pre-meditate any risks well in advance and communicate to partners to formulate the plan of action to mitigate any risks.
• Should be able to build bandwidth to support development activities in data engineering when called for.
• Follow agile development methodologies to deliver solutions and product features by following DevOps practices.
• Ensure the teams follows the prescribed development processes and approaches.

Knowledge, skills and experience

• 6+ years working experience in delivering data solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Databricks, PySpark, and Python.
• Implement and optimize data storage solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as S3, Redshift, and RDS.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various sources.
• Collaborate with data analysts, business  and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by performing data validation, cleansing, and transformation.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with ETL tools and processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues and implement solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data manipulation libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• This role will involve building and optimizing data pipelines, implementing CI/CD pipeline.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
