Your Role

The data platform studio has a key position available for a SQL Server database

developer. In this position, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to wear many hats and to learn a wide variety of technologies. We are looking for candidates who are ready to roll up their sleeves and solve problems, including the ability to figure out what caused the problem and to make sure that it doesn’t recur.

What You Will Do

  • Implement and maintain database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc.

  • Perform various day-to-day activities such as ad-hoc data exports, manipulation and analysis of large data sets, reports, bulk data updates, and investigation of data issues

  • Analyze database problems, recommend and develop solution by applying industry best practices of database design, implementation, and deployment

  • Perform query optimization for poorly performing queries

  • Work closely with stakeholders to determine project requirements, perform analysis to create statement of work and provide time estimates

  • Define, develop, and maintain reports/dashboards written in SSRS/Tableau

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role doing T-SQL programming using MSSQL Server

  • Excellent knowledge of T-SQL, development and debugging of stored procedures, UDFs and triggers

  • Experience in database query/ performance optimization

  • Beginner/ Intermediate level skills in designing reports using SSRS

  • Working knowledge of a version control system (GIT, SVN, TFS or any other) is highly desirable

  • Familiarity with database administration in SQL Server is desirable

  • Familiarity with NoSQL technologies is desirable

  • Knowledge of standards and best practices when it comes to writing database code

  • Willingness to learn recent technologies and innovative ways of approaching projects

  • Effective communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned work with minimal supervision

  • Strong behavioral skills including but not limited to problem-solving, work prioritization, communication, self-direction, and time management
