Position Summary:
This role involves working in the Digital Commerce Platforms group to develop and implement enterprise initiatives and technical projects for Fisher Scientific and Thermo Fisher Scientific ecommerce websites.
As a senior software engineer, you will be responsible for: Designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications, participating in architecture and code reviews, helping to prioritize features and bug fixes, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams at Thermofisher, leading in the pursuit and delivery of the best possible product.
Job Functions:
- Define and develop verifiable requirements and software designs.
- Develop technical documentation for software architecture, design, and verification plans.
- Define and develop software requirements, architectures and designs suited or fault-tolerant systems.
- Participate in all aspects of software development, systems integration, test execution, issue resolution, and reviews.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with software, hardware, and test engineers across the team.
Experience/Skills:
- 6-8 years of hands-on UI engineering experience building web applications with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience from the recent past working on ReactJs frameworks.
- Expert in front end development using JavaScript, React, Redux, Node.js, CSS.
- Extensive experience with common front-end development tools.
- Experience with modern web architectures and asynchronous service-to-service communication.
- Be able to work with onshore counterparts with reasonable overlap time and attend onshore calls.
- Be able to step up when situation demands such as meeting deadlines and critical production issues.
- Be performance driven, highly motivated to adopt new technologies, challenges and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent team player with strong verbal & written communication skills
- Experience in Agile methodologies, and DevOps tools (GIT, Jenkins)
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
