About the role
Roku Pay is one of the core monetization streams at Roku and well suited to ramp up on a significant growth path. Roku Pay encompasses disbursement ecosystems and many other integrations that strive to render a great experience for our partners and consumers. We are on a journey to rebuild our platform to support our growth plans both in domestic and international markets. As part of this exercise, you will have an opportunity to build out a very scalable, performant and available system that can influence Roku's growth path tremendously, while being on the bleeding edge of technologies crafting micro services, scaling cloud deployments, multi-cloud solution, etc.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own building platform features, driving and collaborating directly with product and other engineering teams
- Contribute and Enhance disbursement ecosystem at Roku
- Own design and implementation of shared architectural layers (e.g. queuing, event systems, shared memory clusters) and libraries that can be used across teams
- Bring strong expertise in cloud technology and architecture that can help multiple development teams, QA and infrastructure teams in the organization
- Be an evangelist for best practices across all functions – developers, QA and infrastructure/ops
- Be an evangelist for platform innovation and reuse
- Be actively involved in code/design reviews
We’re excited if you have:
- 7+ years of experience in large scale backend services and 3+ years managing and leading full-stack teams
- Previous or current hands-on coding experience with Java, Python, JavaScript and NodeJS - actively involved in code/design reviews
- Strong experience in designing, leading highly complex distributed systems
- Strong expertise with cloud solutions/systems, specifically AWS and GCP
- Strong passion for technology and adding value to the bottom-line through technology.
- Hands-on experience working with financial system is required, must be familiar with KYB/KYC and SOX.
- Strong passion & expertise with building and adopting CI/CD pipelines
- Past experience collaborating across multiple teams, driving cross functional initiatives, working closely with Product and Business functions.
- Strong experience working in an agile environment (Scrum / Kanban)
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
