Engineering Quality Head

As the Engineering Quality Head, you would hold a critical, high-level position responsible for ensuring that all technical deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance across the entire product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

1. Your quality mandate spans all four core technical components of the product. You will be responsible for all the quality of all the engineering functions below.

• Hardware: Ensuring the quality and reliability of electronic design.
• Firmware: Overseeing the quality of the low-level embedded software that controls the hardware.
• Software: Guaranteeing the quality, robustness, security, and performance of the application-level software (e.g., operating system, user interface, cloud connectivity).
• Mechanical: Ensuring the quality, durability, and fit-and-finish of the product casing, structural parts, connectors, and internal mountings.

1. Process Setup and Audit: You are responsible for setting up a dedicated process (Quality Management System, Design for Quality/Reliability - formal verification and validation procedures) to govern the engineering lifecycle from requirement definition through to release. You will also audit the project to ensure that it’s followed by the engineering team.
2. Raising Standards: This involves defining, documenting, and enforcing the quality criteria and Key Performance Indicators for all engineering teams. This ensures continuous improvement and a higher baseline for product quality over time.
3. Continuous Improvement: Implementing feedback loops (e.g., root cause analysis of failures, field performance monitoring, defect tracking) to identify systemic issues and drive changes in design, development, and testing processes.
4. You serve as the Single Point of Contact for all internal and external engineering quality audits and customer reviews:

• Internal Audits: Coordinating and presenting engineering evidence to internal quality teams or management to prove compliance with defined internal processes and standards.
• External Audits: Representing the engineering organization during audits by customers, regulatory bodies, or certification agencies (e.g., ISO, IATF, ASPICE, CMMI). This requires deep knowledge of all engineering documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.

Experience- 8+yr of experience in Engineering quality management of embedded and software products. spearheaded the engineering team to achieve ASPICE, CMMI, ISO9001-2015, and IATF16949 certification. 

Qualification- Btech / Mtech in ECE / CS / EE
