The Finance Manager will lead and develop the local finance team to ensure strong financial control, oversee accounting processes, and deliver accurate reporting to the UK group. Responsibilities include managing external relations, improving processes, and fostering a supportive environment for team growth.
A senior finance leader responsible for building and running a dependable, well‑structured Finance operation in India that supports the Snap group’s international growth. The role leads and develops the local team, strengthens financial control, oversees core accounting, close cycles and statutory requirements, and ensures accurate monthly reporting into the UK group.
Why this role exists…
As the Snap group continues to scale globally, this role exists to establish and lead a strong, dependable finance operation in India, fully aligned to UK group standards and expectations.
You will play a critical role in bringing clarity, structure and ownership to a growing offshore finance function. You’ll ensure consistent, high‑quality finance delivery while creating an environment where people feel supported, developed and accountable.
This is a leadership role with real influence. Through building capability, strengthening controls and improving ways of working, you’ll help ensure finance is a trusted, effective partner to the wider business, locally and internationally.
What you’ll be doing…
You’ll lead our soon to grow India‑based finance team and act as a key link between local operations and UK leadership. The role combines hands‑on oversight with people leadership, process improvement and international collaboration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing our future India finance team, setting clear expectations and supporting growth
- Ensuring strong financial control across core accounting processes, close cycles, and reconciliations
- Working with external accountants on local statutory accounting and tax matters
- Partnering with external payroll providers to ensure accurate payroll and employment compliance
- Delivering timely, accurate monthly reporting to the UK group
- Managing intercompany charges and ensuring alignment with group standards
- Acting as the primary liaison with local auditors and external advisors
- Continuously improving finance processes, structure, and ways of working
In your first 3–6 months, success might look like:
- Consistent, reliable month‑end delivery aligned to UK expectations
- Strong working relationships with UK‑based stakeholders
- Clear, repeatable processes in place to support future scale
- Increased confidence from leadership in the India finance operation
What you’ll need to succeed…
We’re looking for a senior finance leader who combines strong technical control with people‑first leadership and international experience.
You might be a great fit if you have:
- Proven people leadership experience, including developing, coaching, and performance‑managing a finance team
- A strong financial control background, overseeing accounting processes, reconciliations, close cycles, and compliance
- Experience working closely with international stakeholders, particularly UK‑based leadership
- High standards and accountability, taking clear ownership of quality, delivery, and timelines
- Experience building or scaling finance operations, adding structure and discipline as organisations grow
- Clear, confident communication skills, able to explain issues, progress, and risks in a practical, solution‑focused way
- 6-8 years' experience, ideally within professional services or an international business environment
Nice to haves:
- Experience in a captive or offshore finance centre
- Previous experience within a UK‑ or Europe‑headquartered group
- Exposure to group reporting or consolidation
- Experience supporting audits or working with external advisors
- Process improvement or transition experience
- A professional accounting qualification (or currently working towards one)
This role might not be the right fit if you’re looking for:
- A purely individual‑contributor role without eventual people leadership
- Highly directive environments with limited autonomy
- A role focused only on local delivery without international collaboration
