Team/Role Overview

The Finance Reporting Lead Analyst is senior professional position responsible for performing testing and monitoring of controls as per the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) policy and procedure. Role is responsible for independently evaluating and testing controls to ensure compliance with regulations, mitigate risk, and verify the effectiveness.

This role supports the Global Controller organization and requires strong controls experience, attention to detail, and stakeholder communication and engagement to remediate deficiencies. This role will also interact with Citi's Central Testing Utility (CTU), who will be responsible for performing monitoring and testing of a sub-set of controls.

What you’ll do

  • Execute required monitoring and testing of controls; perform procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of controls including sample selection and control testing procedures.

  • Document and report monitoring and testing results; prepare detailed testing documentation, summarizing results and communicating finds to management and relevant stakeholders in clear and concise reports

  • Perform design of control assessments (CDAs) and monitoring tool design assessments (MDAs).

  • Communicate monitoring and testing and CDA/MDA results to stakeholders.

  • Work with senior leadership on enhancing design of control and monitoring tool design as needed.

  • Build and maintain a thorough understanding of internal controls and MCA to provide insight and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Liaise with the Central Testing Utility to develop and share best practices.

What we’ll need from you

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree In Finance/Economy, Master’s degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Services or Controls Testing Analyst and/or Internal Controls Auditor.

  • Strong understanding of internal controls and experience with risk assessment methodologies.

  • Familiarity with accounting principles, financial statement analysis and regulatory reporting (both US and local).

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

  • Proven organizational and time management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
