The Role
We’re looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer — a rare blend of product thinker, builder, and customer partner. You’ll work directly with our business users to translate messy, high-context problems into working apps and automations using Emergent’s platform.
You’ll deploy fast, prototype relentlessly, and ensure customers succeed — whether that means building a custom AI workflow, debugging a misbehaving agent, or designing better prompts. This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, customer success, and product development.
What You’ll Do
● Partner with clients to deeply understand their business goals, workflows, and constraints.
● Use Emergent’s vibe-coding environment to design, prompt, and deploy complete applications tailored to each client’s needs.
● Translate non-technical requirements into structured AI instructions, integrations, and behaviors.
● Prototype, test, and iterate quickly — owning delivery from ideation to deployment.
● Work with the Emergent product and research teams to push platform boundaries — identifying gaps, hallucination issues, or new agentic behaviors worth building.
● Train and support customer teams, helping them become self-sufficient vibe coders.
● Act as the voice of the customer, surfacing insights and patterns that influence Emergent’s roadmap.
Who You Are
● A builder at heart — you love getting your hands dirty and delivering working systems.
● Previous experience of 2-5 years building full-stack applications
● Strong grounding in LLMs, prompt engineering, and API integration.
● Comfort with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript — not to write entire systems, but to debug, extend, and integrate when needed.
● Experience with tools like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex is a plus.
● You can think in systems: data flows, edge cases, and user outcomes matter to you.
● You enjoy direct customer collaboration and can translate ambiguity into clarity and output.
