As a Software Engineering - Developer at Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions. Position summary: Full Stack Java Application Modernization Architect with (AI)
in Kyndryl, is a person who has good experience in application design, development, and modernization. Person will lead & mentor the application modernization projects & teams as defined in role description and responsibilities below.
Work experience: Overall 10+ years of relevant IT experience, with minimum 10 years of experience in area of Application Design, Development & Modernization .
About 5 years’ experience in AI application development, model development and training

Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will play the following roles and take on the below responsibilities.
As application consultant, engage with clients to
- Conduct a TCO/ROI study to come up with the value proposition for AI infused application development and modernization
- Define the approach and plan for application modernization, application development using AI/ML and GenAI technologies
- Provide architectural leadership to Solution Architects to deliver thoughtful IT solutions to the business
Experience
- Should have end to end working experience in application development across cloud native environments.
- Good understanding and experience of cloud native application design principles (like micro-services, stateless application meant for cloud, containers, 12 factor app principles etc.)
- Familiarity with tools such as New Relic, Splunk
- Must have executed large app modernization and cloud native architecting programs (at least 2 programs)
Offering and capability development
- Create application modernization and development offerings based on market demand and develop delivery capabilities for its execution based on AI/ML/GenAI technologies
- Define reference architecture for new offerings and provide key differentiator inputs to offering teams in terms of new technology adoption in application area.
As Lead Architect for project delivery -
- Engage with clients to design applications based on business requirements covering Applications, Data,Cloud Technology & Application Authentication & Authorization.
- Experience with Conversational AI, Chatbots
- Experience in using GenAI in software development lifecycle – development, code analysis, code generation, testing
- Experience with tools like Langchain, Embedchain and Vector Database
- Experience in LLMs and AI/ML/GenAI services available in public cloud
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex language understanding and Generative AI projects
- Direct engineering experience of high performance, large-scale ML systems
- Deep understanding of AI algorithm architectures, frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and their integration into distributed environments
- Understanding of machine learning,NLP and GenAI lifecycle, model building process, ability to build model implementation pipelines, model evaluation, drift detection, etc
- Performing quality review of project deliverables. Lead work sessions and client discussion.
- Spearheading the complete Solution Architecture, Digital Transformation, Cloud Modernization & Architecture, Software Development and Performance Tuning
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, information security, application & infrastructure teams to produce an optimal, high level, conceptual, and cost-effective application designs by using AI/ML and GenAI patterns and best practices
Primary Skills:
Proficiency in languages commonly used in AI development, such as Python and R.
Java, Java Servlet, Java JSP, JEE API, 12 Factor Application Design, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Spring Data
Package Manager – Maven / Gradle
Experience with AI development frameworks and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.)
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
•Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl
•Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices
