Lead acquisition and subscription growth across SEO, paid channels, newsletters, partnerships, and product funnels. Run end-to-end paid campaigns, A/B tests, pricing and paywall experiments, lifecycle automation, churn prevention, and collaborate with Sales and Editorial to scale subscribers and optimize unit economics.
• Build the top of the funnel across SEO, paid social, search, content syndication, podcasts,
newsletters, and partnerships.
• Set and hit monthly subscriber targets. Own CAC by channel. Kill what doesn't work, double down
on what does.
• Run paid acquisition end-to-end on Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and YouTube — from creative briefs to
bidding strategy to LP optimization.
• Optimize the free-to-paid funnel: paywalls, upgrade prompts, plan architecture, pricing
experiments, gift subscriptions, group/team plans, and corporate accounts.
• Run a relentless A/B testing cadence on landing pages, checkout, and trial flows.
• Partner with Sales/BD on B2B and institutional subscription deals (PE/VC firms, corporate teams,
business schools).
• Build the lifecycle stack: onboarding, activation, engagement, win-back, and renewal flows across
email, WhatsApp, app push, and on-site.
• Drive renewal rates and lower involuntary churn (dunning, payment recovery, plan downgrade
alternatives).
• Define and instrument leading indicators of churn — and intervene before the credit card declines.
• Partner with the Editor-in-Chief on a distribution-aware editorial calendar — without ever
compromising journalistic integrity.
• Own SEO strategy, technical SEO hygiene, internal linking, schema, and topical authority around
CapTable's beats.
• Grow our newsletter portfolio as the most reliable acquisition machine we have.
Requirements
• 5–8 years in growth, performance marketing, or product marketing — at least 2 of those in a
subscription business (media, SaaS, D2C, edtech, fintech, OTT, or premium content).
• You have personally driven subscriber or revenue growth that you can defend with numbers in an
interview.
• Hands-on with the modern growth stack: GA4, Mixpanel/Amplitude, Hotjar, Google Tag Manager,
Meta/Google Ads Manager, an ESP/CDP (Customer.io, Braze, Mailmodo, MoEngage, or similar),
and Stripe/Razorpay subscription analytics.
• Comfortable with SQL or at least confident reading data without waiting for an analyst.
• You write well. You can brief a designer, a copywriter, and a journalist — in their respective
languages — without losing the plot.
• You think in funnels, cohorts, and unit economics, not vanity metrics.
• You care about the business of business journalism. You read CapTable. You have a point of view
on how India's media is being rebuilt around trust and depth.
