ValMo is Meesho’s logistics and supply chain organization, responsible for building India’s most cost-efficient, reliable, and scalable fulfillment network. From first-mile pickup to last-mile delivery and reverse logistics, ValMo powers millions of shipments every month for small businesses across the country.
As we scale, the complexity of our network increases exponentially. ValMo operates at the intersection of technology, operations, and partner ecosystems — where execution precision and systems thinking are critical to prevent cascading (domino) failures across the network.
About the RoleWe are looking for a seasoned operations leader to head ValMo Operations at scale. This role requires someone who has led large, distributed networks with high shipment volumes, multiple stakeholders, and tight SLAs.
The ideal candidate brings deep systems thinking — the ability to see interdependencies across first mile, line haul, last mile, and returns — and proactively design processes, governance, and control mechanisms that prevent large-scale operational disruptions.
You will be responsible for building a resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient operations engine while balancing growth, service quality, and profitability.
What you will do
- 1. End-to-End Network Ownership
Own operational performance across the entire ValMo network (first mile, middle mile, last mile, and reverse logistics).
Drive core metrics: SLA adherence, TAT, cost per shipment, RTO, fill rates, NPS, and network utilization.
Ensure seamless coordination across regions, hubs, and partners.
2. Systems Thinking & Risk PreventionIdentify structural bottlenecks and hidden interdependencies that can trigger domino failures.
Design robust operating cadences, early warning systems, and escalation frameworks.
Build contingency planning mechanisms for peak events, disruptions, and network shocks.
3. Scale & StandardizationInstitutionalize SOPs, governance models, and performance management frameworks across regions.
Drive standardization while enabling flexibility for hyperlocal nuances.
Lead automation and tech-driven transformation of operational workflows.
4. Partner & Stakeholder LeadershipManage strategic 3PL partnerships and drive long-term capability building.
Collaborate with Product, Tech, Finance, Category, and CX to align network strategy with business goals.
Lead high-stakes cross-functional problem solving during critical incidents.
5. Cost & Efficiency OptimizationDrive structural cost improvements without compromising service quality.
Improve network design, capacity planning, and route optimization.
Build a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
6. Team LeadershipBuild and mentor a strong bench of regional and central operations leaders.
Create a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence.
Drive leadership development across layers of the organization.
What you will need
- 12–18+ years of experience in large-scale logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, or operations-led businesses.
- Proven experience managing high-volume, multi-city operations.
- Demonstrated systems thinking — ability to anticipate second- and third-order effects.
- Strong track record of preventing or successfully managing large-scale operational incidents.
- Experience working with technology-driven operations and automation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and crisis leadership skills.
- Data fluency and comfort with metrics-driven management.
- MBA or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
