Job Description

Roles & Responsibility

  • Conduct and oversee investigations related to mechanical failures, performance issues, and design improvements.

  • Perform troubleshooting for field and manufacturing issues, investigate to determine root causes, assessment of risk, and appropriate CAPA actions.

  • Implement design changes that sustain existing products that are in the market

  • Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests as required to draw conclusions

  • Engaging in hardware lifecycle management, including solutions to obsolescence, verification of design solutions, improvement of manufacturing process, and cost out opportunities

  • Conducting analysis of installed base and new product reliability using FMEA, DFR tools

  • Experienced in quality engineering projects that provide imaginative solutions to engineering and customer issues

  • Perform failure analysis of issues reported from field, NCs, trending etc. including autopsies of failed units whenever available.

  • Document the detailed analysis using tools like fish bone, 5 WHYs, Reliability etc. and identify the root-cause of failures and propose solutions

  • Perform design integration, verification, validation, FMEA, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability analysis/ testing.

  • Co-ordination of manufacturing releases - Change implementation.

  • Perform detailed analysis and simulations of suspended mass systems to ensure stability, safety, and efficiency.

Education Qualifications

  • Master’s/ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience

Required Qualification

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering and more than 5+ years relevant work experience

  • Ability to design, execute, analysis experiments.

  • Familiarity with mechanical 3D CAD tool ProE and Windchill

  • Effective oral and written English communication skills which need global cooperation.

  • Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills

  • Experience working within a regulated environment (medical device experience is a plus)

  • Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets

  • Demonstrated capabilities in thermal and mechanical simulation

  • Design for reliability experience. Design for manufacturing / Service / Cost experience

  • Demonstrated project leadership, technical leadership and influencing skills

  • Green Belt/Black Belt Certified
