Own international business development for newborn health tools, targeting private hospital groups, corporate HR and CSR partners, distributors, and retailers. Responsibilities include identifying prospects, building target lists, managing partnerships from outreach through renewal, negotiating commercial agreements, developing white-label opportunities, maintaining CRM pipeline forecasts, coordinating with product, regulatory, and clinical teams, and representing BEMPU at international events.
We are looking for an International Business Development Manager to find and grow our commercial business worldwide for our newborn tools. Your world is private hospital groups, corporate HR and CSR partnerships, newborn distributors and retailers.
You will own these relationships end to end, from the first conversation through to a signed agreement and then a renewal.
What You'll Do
- Identify and open commercial partnerships worldwide: private hospital groups and chains, corporate HR and employee benefit programmes, CSR partners, newborn product distributors and retailers.
- Build a prioritised target list of organisations and funders already working in newborn and maternal health, and get in front of them.
- Own each relationship end to end: first outreach, pitch, commercial terms, contracting, onboarding and renewal.
- Negotiate distributor and reseller agreements, including pricing, margin, territory and minimum commitments.
- Develop white label and co-branded opportunities where they make commercial sense.
- Build the partnership pipeline in our CRM with honest stage definitions and forecast dates.
- Work with our product, regulatory and clinical teams so that what we promise a partner is what we can deliver.
- Represent BEMPU at international trade shows, newborn health conferences and partner events.
Requirements
- 2 to 8 years in business development, partnerships or international sales, ideally in medical devices, consumer health, or the maternal and newborn health sector.
- Demonstrated experience taking a partnership from cold outreach to a signed commercial agreement.
- Comfort negotiating commercial terms, and enough commercial literacy to know which deals are worth signing.
- Experience working across geographies and time zones, with cultural fluency to match.
- Excellent written and spoken English; a second language is a plus.
- Self-directed, organised, and able to build a pipeline from nothing.
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
- Bachelor's degree; a postgraduate qualification in business, public health or a related field is a plus.
Benefits
- A global remit with real ownership over which partnerships we pursue.
- The credibility of a product backed by peer-reviewed evidence and by the Gates Foundation, USAID and UNICEF.
- Direct collaboration with BEMPU's founder and leadership team.
- Health insurance and statutory benefits as applicable.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
