The IT Architect for Workday Extend will lead the development lifecycle of new Workday Extend applications, advising process owners, scoping projects, managing improvements, resolving issues, and ensuring testing accuracy. The role requires extensive experience with Workday and strong analytical skills to drive process improvements.
- Act as a Workday architect by leading and advising process owners through the new Workday Extend applications and the development lifecycle.
- Identify the new business needs and review the options, risk and impact of the new process changes.
- Scoping and estimating required effort to deliver Extend applications, identifying and documenting impact on related modules for review and approval by Global Functional Teams or local HR Manager.
- Manage projects/process improvement, including applying change management experience to facilitate movement to new levels of quality.
- Work on issue resolution, make recommendations for workarounds and proactively identify business process improvement opportunities
- Actively engage in problem management, identifying recurring patterns in incidents, raising problem records, documenting known errors, investigating root causes and resolution paths
- Perform agreed Workday configuration, Test the changes as result of bug fixes, enhancement/change requests, and introduction of new functionality and ensures relevant documentation is updated
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science or Related Field of study.
- Extensive experience (5-8 years) in implementation and operations of Workday, requirements gathering, configuration, testing and troubleshooting.
- Deep knowledge on PMD Scripting, Orchestration, core HCM module and Security and custom Business processes.
- Functional understanding and knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and processes.
- Affinity for cloud-based technology and solutions, organizational strength and ability to work under pressure
- Prior experience working in large scale global environment dealing with complex project requirements and multiple stakeholders
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (must) and German (optional).
- Solution-oriented mindset and good understanding of processes
- Experience in JSON, XML, SQL, JavaScript, and other application development experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of trustworthiness and discretion
