Position Summary:
We are looking for an IT System Administrator to help support Avathon's corporate IT resources and end users. The ideal candidate has experience working within a ticket management system, handling employee onboarding and offboarding activities, and various other IT-related tasks. The position offers opportunities to continue growing by learning new technology and learning from experienced Engineers as we continue to build new solutions.
This role has two shifts: 9am - 6pm IST and 3pm - 12am IST
You Will:
- Provide end-user support, resolve help desk tickets, and assist in employee on/off-boarding
- Remote troubleshoot laptops, printers, & conference room equipment
- Update documentation procedures for common processes (on/off-boarding, conference room preparation, hardware purchases and inventory management)
- Assist in the off-boarding process: Disable accounts, office 365, Google, Backup user home directories, rebuild machines, disable building access, and forward the email to the manager
- Work with Engineering and other department leaders to ensure their teams are supported
In Summary:
IT Support:
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex technical issues, escalating when necessary.
Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
Windows and Linux System Administration
- Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows servers, ensuring optimal system uptime, performance, and security by actively monitoring system health, implementing robust security measures, and collaborating with other teams to manage the overall infrastructure
- Storage Management: Familiarity with different storage technologies like NAS, RAID and LVM
Problem-solving: Ability to analyze complex technical issues and identify root causes - Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware and KVM).
- Scripting and Automation:
Writing shell, PowerShell or other scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks and streamline system management. - Performance Monitoring:
Monitoring system performance metrics like CPU usage, memory utilization, disk space, and network bandwidth to identify potential bottlenecks - Security Management:
- Ensure systems comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Backup and Recovery, Patch Management
- Network Management:
Configuring network interfaces, firewalls, VPN tunnels. - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Cloud Networking, DNS, SSL, Buckets, cloud Run
- Work closely with DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and Product Engineering teams to align IT systems with company goals.
- Research and recommend new technologies to enhance system performance and security.
You'll Have:
- Experience supporting and installing PCs & Macs, software, and conference room equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skill
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eager to learn, produces high-quality work, and self-driven personality
- 4+ years’ experience in an IT System Administrator
