Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Java Back-End Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-quality enterprise applications. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs, ensuring technical excellence, and driving continuous improvement in application performance. The developer will contribute to business objectives by delivering reliable backend systems aligned with organizational standards and future growth plans.
Software Requirements
Required:
Proficiency in Java programming language, with experience in building enterprise-level applications
Hands-on experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Struts
Familiarity with integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or NetBeans
Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, including database design and management
Preferred:
Experience with Microservices architecture and containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions and deployment strategies
Overall Responsibilities
Develop, test, and optimize Java applications ensuring high performance, security, and scalability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop solutions, and deliver enhancements
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and organizational standards
Debug and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and performance bottlenecks
Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and documentation efforts
Stay informed on the latest Java and related technology trends and incorporate improvements into development practices
Support deployment, integration, and post-implementation support activities
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Essential: Java, SQL
Preferred: Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting for automation
Databases/Data Management:
Experience in designing, querying, and managing relational databases like MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
Cloud Technologies:
Familiarity with deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Outcomes: Effective use of cloud services for scalable and resilient backend solutions
Frameworks and Libraries:
Essential: Spring (Core, MVC, Boot), Hibernate, Struts
Preferred: Microservices frameworks and API development tools
Development Tools and Methodologies:
Proficiency with IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, NetBeans)
Version control with Git, collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence

Basic understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms suitable for enterprise systems (OAuth, JWT, LDAP)

Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java development
Proven experience in building enterprise applications using Java frameworks
Experience working in team environments within agile methodologies
Domain experience in banking, retail, or related industries is advantageous
Alternative pathway: Demonstrated success in complex backend systems, microservices, or system integration projects
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and enhance backend modules, services, and APIs in Java according to project specifications
Conduct performance analysis, code reviews, and troubleshoot issues effectively
Collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and QA teams to ensure seamless system integration
Write comprehensive documentation of code and system configurations
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings
Continuously evaluate system performance, security, and scalability for ongoing optimization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Java Certifications, Spring Professional Certification) are a plus
Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping abreast of emerging Java and enterprise technology advancements
