Role : Real Time Monitoring – Splunk Developer
Description
Real Time Monitoring – Splunk Developer is responsible for hands-on splunk platform with expertise in building splunk Apps & Addons, splunk knowledge objects, splunk components, troubleshooting, and splunk development best practices.
He/she to be successful in this role, he/she should have experience using the splunk platform and work well in a team with good problem-solving skills. He should have an analytical approach to create and deliver monitoring needs.
Qualification & Experience
1) Engineering or IT graduate with 10+ years of experience in Industry
2) Expert level:
a. Expert in Core Splunk Development – with Enterprise Level Implementation Experience (5+ years)
b. Expert in working with splunk (Creating splunk Apps(Reports & Dashboards), Addons, Splunk data onboarding techniques, and Alerts)
c. Expert in using Splunk components like UF, HF, Indexer, DS, SH, LM etc d. Expert in SPL
3) Intermediate level:
a. Good knowledge on Linux and Windows environment
b. Automation knowledge using shell scripting
c. Proven track record in agile way of working
d. Github
4) Other:
a. Splunk Power User Certification is added advantage
b. Knowledge on python is benefit
c. Good to have knowledge on devops CI/CD
d. Team Player
Responsibilities
1) Developing complex reports & dashboards in splunk
2) Building own Splunk Apps & Addons or Rebuilding & customizing them from a splunk base.
3) Implementing best SPL logics and writing search optimizations in splunk. 4) Writing saved searches, lookups, alerts etc…
5) Working with regular expressions, automation, etc. It has a wide range of application 6) Delivering Splunk Apps/Add Ons as per business needs
7) Must be interested to adapt his skills into python as per business needs
Success Metrics
Success will be measured in a variety of areas, including but not limited to
● Dashboard/features reliability and performance
● Efficiency (KPI) on demand management
● Efficiency of the features in terms of standard and reusability
● End user satisfaction and advocacy
The role will have the following key outputs:
● Propose and implement standard/best practice across the team
● Continuous improvement on operational excellence via automation
● Comprehensive and world class DevOps capability including ways of working, tools and centre of excellence
