Job Description
As a Lead Data Engineer in Asset and Wealth Management within International Private Bank (IPB) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions, to support your Data Scientist colleagues in delivering novel AIML solutions. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas, in addition to advising developer colleagues on how to progress AIML solutions through the Machine Learning Development Lifecycle (MDLC).
You'll work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment-one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally. You will actively participate and promote an AIML 'aware' culture within the IPB, helping to increase understanding of evolving AIML technology and educate technologist and business partners alike, in the strengths and limitations of generative AI solutions.
This role is based in Bengaluru, India.
Job responsibilities

  • Generates data models for their team using firm wide tooling, linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms.
  • Delivers data collection, storage, access, and analytics data platform solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
  • Implements database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy.
  • Evaluates and reports on access control processes to determine effectiveness of data asset security with minimal supervision.
  • Provide guidance on the technical feasibility of IPB AIML use cases.
  • Guide and advise IPB developers through the MDLC.
  • Maintain proactive liaison with firm wide AIML stakeholders to ensure best practice,
  • Oversee the broader education of IPB developers in AIML development.
  • Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm's innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about technology advancements.
  • Drives adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies.
  • Influences across business, product, and technology teams and successfully manages senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BSc/ MSc in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 7 years of tangible, practical experience of helping to deliver high-tariff technical solutions.
  • Working experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience and proficiency across the data lifecycle.
  • Experience with database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy.
  • Proficient knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms.
  • Practical experience of contributing to AIML solutions involving Natural Language Processing (including Large Language Models).


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience within Financial Services Technology.
