The Lead Data Scientist at Equifax will supervise and validate various models for Consumer and Commercial banking, provide mentorship to junior staff, collaborate with stakeholders to enhance model performance, and implement strategies to manage model risks through the analysis of complex datasets on GCP using Python and Bigquery.

What you’ll do
- Supervise and conduct validations of various models used across the organization
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and learning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve model performance, interpret results, and provide actionable insights.
- Analyze complex data sets related to Consumer and Commercial banking on Google Cloud Platform(GCP) using Python and Bigquery
- Validate models developed using advanced machine learning techniques, ensuring accuracy and stability in predicting key outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, quantify, and mitigate model risks.
- Contribute to the design and execution of model testing and monitoring processes.
What experience you need
- Understanding of key business and risk KPIs for retail banking products.
- 5+ years’ experience in handling BFSI analytics/developing models/validation/ implementing models/.
- Credit risk model development experience is a must.
- Python and SQL coding experience is a must have technical skill.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in supervising projects and team members, demonstrating ability to successfully manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods, machine learning techniques including Ensemble techniques, deep learning.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to model risk management is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
