Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) to spearhead innovative projects focused on name matching, address matching, and entity resolution. This role offers the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art AI techniques to solve complex problems that have a direct impact on the security and accuracy of our identity verification processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced NLP models for name matching, address matching, and entity resolution.

Utilize deep learning, machine learning, and statistical techniques to build scalable solutions that improve the accuracy and efficiency of our global watch list production within our identity verification product suite.

Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other data scientists to define requirements and deliver robust models that meet business needs.

Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP, deep learning, and AI to continually improve our models.

Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.

Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Ensure all NLP solutions are scalable, maintainable, and adhere to industry best practices in terms of data privacy and security.
Qualifications:
-
Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with a strong focus on NLP and machine learning.

5+ years of experience in data science with a focus on NLP, deep learning, and entity resolution.
-
Proven track record of leading NLP projects from concept to production in a fast-paced environment.
-
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++. Python is a must.

Extensive experience with NLP libraries and frameworks such as spaCy, Hugging Face, NLTK, or similar.

Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in identity verification, fraud prevention, or a related domain.

Familiarity with cloud-based environments such as AWS, and Databricks
-
Experience with big data technologies such as Spark
-
Published research or patents in NLP, deep learning, or AI.
