Job Duties and Responsibilities
Job Duties and Responsibilities for Lead / Senior Engineer - Mediation Development position:

  • Support in the capture, refinement and documentation of requirements.
  • Play a lead role with partners and other stakeholders to:
    • Create and document the logical and physical integration design for our applications and solutions.
    • Install, upgrade and configure applications and potentially other OS or third party software components required by these applications.
    • Create, document and support execution of test plans and cases
    • Take ownership of integration between the revenue management platform(s) and the network, BSS and OSS and/or for the complete life-cycle of charging, rating, and billing
  • As a lead candidate should be responsible for technical deliverables assigned to you from estimating, designing, development and unit testing these and ensuring these are of a high quality of standard. Senior Engineer should be able to develop as per the design provided
  • Identify, communicate and drive improvement initiatives for the processes and tools relating to your role.
  • Working with PO and coming up with a solution design and development for the requirements, support functional testing, SIT, UAT, and production releases
  • Collaborate with the other team and provide inputs for the implementation of the e2e solution
  • Drive complex technical projects from planning through execution
  • Provide leadership and mentor engineers in innovative and fast-paced environments
  • Perform configuration reviews, code reviews


Job Duties and Responsibilities for Lead / Senior Engineer - Charging & Mediation / Billing Operations :

  • Work closely with Operations Manager for regular activities
  • Perform the application Monitoring, handle the alerts, perform daily health checks, proactively identify the problems and resolve it, ensure the application availability
  • Involve in the issue investigations and identify corrective actions, Production Incidents management, automation of regular manual activities
  • Environment maintenance activities and support the required teams for any upgrade activities like EKS cluster upgrade, application upgrade etc.
  • Should be able to independently handle the Charging & Mediation / Billing Operations activities and resolve the issues related to it
  • Monitor the PODs and make sure the same are running successfully.
  • Provide support during performance testing activities, Triage, monitor, track, and support debugging of charging & mediation platform issues until resolved
  • Interaction with Product Owners for planning the production deployment activities
  • Involve in the sprint deployments, application patching and product deployment in TEST and PROD environments.
  • Conduct application server maintenance activities including but not limited to the application bounce, disk cleanup, bucket remounting
  • Develop, review, and implement Charging/Mediation/Billing platform operations runbooks and comprehensive deployment plans for upgrades, big fixes, and new product introductions
  • Involve in checking the mediation workflows, CDR reprocessing, monitoring the CDR backlogs, send health status of prod environments to the management
  • Reconcile the CDRs and inform the upstream in case of drastic reduction in the usage files.
  • Handle the usage processing, bill run activities, resolve the Production Incidents, work on clearing the error CDRs, fix the billing errors.
  • Develop, review and implement automation artifacts
  • Involve in the preparation of Manual Operations Procedure (MOP) deployment creation, review, execution and validation
  • Create a problem ticket to the Development team for code/configuration fixes and closely work with the Development team to get the problem tickets handled and deployed in Prod.
  • Fix the production incidents permanently by identifying the Root Cause and publish the RCA document.
  • Estimate effort of the patching activities, involve in patching activities
  • Closely work with OEMs to get the core Product bugs fixed.
  • Generation of reports and deliver to the required stakeholders/teams.


Skills, Experience and Requirements
Skills and Requirements for Lead / Senior Engineer - Mediation Development :

  • Experience of 4 to 10 years in the telecom mediation domain with minimum of 2+ years' development experience in DigitalRoute Mediation Zone product preferably
  • Should be well versed with the implementation of batch & real-time workflows and other critical functionalities like aggregation, correlation, filtering
  • Experience in APL, UNIX, Shell Scripting and Oracle SQL. Exposure to java will be an advantage
  • Must have good experience in performing CDR analysis
  • Should possess deep knowledge of the E2E telecom flow and should be able to think logically towards the issue resolution
  • Exposure to AWS, CI/CD will be an advantage
  • Should have experience in resolving the technical issues reported for the environment.
  • Candidate should have strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


Skills and Requirements for Lead / Senior Engineer - Charging & Mediation / Billing Operations :

  • Engineering degree with 2 to 10 years of experience in application Operations support & maintenance
  • Should have 2 to 6+ years of Operations experience in one or more of the following
    • Online Charging System (OCS) : Experience with OCS platforms such as Matrixx (preferably), Ericsson, Nokia
    • Telecom Mediation systems Operations : Experience with mediation platforms such as DigitalRoute (preferably), InterMediate, Nokia mediation etc.
    • Telecom Billing Operations : Experience in Optima/Kenan billing
  • Should have experience in the deployment of pricing images on to TEST/PROD environments
  • Candidate should be ready to work in the DevOps model by handling operations support and maintenance activities.
  • Should have good experience in monitoring the application using Grafana, DataDog
  • Candidate should be ready to work during shifts/weekends on need basis for the deployment support and weekly maintenance activities
  • Highly proficient on scripting (Linux, Python, Perl), SQL, PL/SQL, Mongo DB, REST API, Postman, Java, JSON, REST APIs and Apache Tomcat, ,
  • Good to have skills: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
