What’s the role?

At Jar, design is at the core of how we build products. We’re helping millions of Indians build saving and investment habits, and design plays a key role in making this journey simple, intuitive, and rewarding.

As a Lead Product Designer, you’ll own key product design initiatives end-to-end - shaping how users experience Jar every day. You’ll set design direction, bring clarity to complex problems, and ensure visual and interaction excellence across the app. You’ll also guide and mentor other designers while partnering closely with product, engineering, and data to deliver meaningful user experiences that drive real outcomes.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Lead design for multiple product areas, from problem discovery to delivery.
• Drive product design strategy and maintain high-quality design standards across the product.
• Translate user insights and data into clear, functional, and engaging designs.
• Build and evolve Jar’s design system to ensure a cohesive and scalable visual language.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate and iterate on design solutions.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and business teams to align on priorities and deliver impactful outcomes.
• Mentor junior designers, review their work, and support their growth through feedback and collaboration.
   

What are we looking for?

• 5+ years of experience in product design, with experience in mentorship.
• Proven experience designing and shipping consumer-facing products at scale (fintech, gaming, or habit-forming apps preferred).
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, information hierarchy, and interaction design
• Expertise in Figma (components, prototypes), additionally familiarity with motion design tools like Rive, ProtoPie would be helpful.
• Deep empathy for users and the ability to connect design decisions to business and user goals.
• Skilled in using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide design decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills - able to influence and align teams around design outcomes.
• Hands-on approach with attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
