The Lead QA Engineer oversees quality assurance in software projects, implementing automated testing strategies and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while mentoring junior engineers.
Job Summary:
The Software QA Engineer Lead is responsible for leading quality assurance efforts across software engineering teams. This role ensures that all software products meet rigorous quality standards and comply with healthcare regulations. The lead collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement automated testing strategies, integrate AI-enhanced testing methodologies, and drive continuous improvement in QA.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Test Strategy & Automation Leadership
- Designs and leads execution of test strategies across multiple projects.
- Develops and maintains automated test frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, Jenkins).
- Integrates testing into CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery.
2. AI-Enhanced Testing & Innovation
- Applies AI/ML techniques to improve test coverage and defect prediction.
- Evaluates and implements intelligent automation tools to optimize QA workflows.
3. Healthcare Compliance & Regulatory Standards
- Ensures QA processes align with HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare regulations.
- Validates clinical workflows and data integrity in healthcare SaaS platforms.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partners with engineering, product, and clinical teams to define quality standards.
- Facilitates agile development practices and supports sprint planning and retrospectives.
5. Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentors QA engineers and promotes best practices in testing.
- Fosters a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
- 2+ years in a lead or managerial QA role.
Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
- Certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent.
- Experience with healthcare SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and AI/ML testing tools.
- Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and secure coding practices.
