The Lead Deployment Engineer will manage deploying robots in the field, ensuring their performance and stability through on-site testing and debugging, while collaborating with teams to enhance system functionality.
We’re looking for a Lead Deployment Engineer who will own the end-to-end deployment, testing, and field performance of our robots at customer sites. You’ll bridge hardware, software, and operations — ensuring each robot is field-ready, stable, and performing to spec.
Requirements
- Robot Deployment & Commissioning
- Lead end-to-end deployment of robots at customer sites (primarily in the US).
- Perform on-site calibration, bring-up, and verification of robot subsystems — navigation, manipulation, perception, and control.
- Ensure successful commissioning, handover, and acceptance with customers.
- System Debugging & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-level issues during deployment.
- Capture and analyze logs, metrics, and sensor data to identify and fix root causes.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to validate solutions.
- Quality Assurance and Validation
- Execute structured QA tests on robot hardware and software before release.
- Validate performance metrics such as uptime, repeatability, and navigation reliability.
- Maintain test reports and site-validation documentation.
- Experimentation and Field Improvements
- Run field experiments to validate perception, planning, and control improvements.
- Provide structured feedback to influence hardware and software roadmaps.
- Support data collection for model retraining and algorithm optimization.
- Minor Bug Fixes & Patch Management
- Identify and fix simple bugs directly on-site (ROS 2 nodes, Python/C++).
- Collaborate with internal teams to test and validate updates in live environments.
- 4 + years of hands-on experience deploying autonomous or semi-autonomous robots in production environments (AMRs, manipulators, or field robots).
- Strong proficiency in ROS 2 (Humble or later), including Nav2 and MoveIt 2.
- Exposure to Isaac Sim, RViz, or Gazebo for validation and visualization.
- Solid debugging skills in Python/C++ for system-level and ROS node-level issues.
- Experience with sensor calibration (LiDAR, IMU, camera) and hardware bring-up.
- Familiarity with robot networking, telemetry, and remote diagnostics.
- Prior experience deploying robots in the USA or working with US-based customers.
- Valid B1/B2 visa (preferred).
- Experience with mobile manipulation systems or multi-sensor fusion.
- Familiarity with industrial finishing, coating, or surface-treatment systems.
- Strong communication and reporting skills for field feedback and customer interactions.
Benefits
- Work on real robots deployed at real sites — not just lab demos.
- Be part of one of India’s most talent-dense robotics teams from IITs, IISc, and leading global universities.
- Help scale cutting-edge autonomous systems that redefine construction automation.
- Competitive compensation, international travel exposure, and rapid growth opportunities in a deep-tech environment.
