Title: Lead Software Engineer
The Group: The Financial Planning group builds solutions and capabilities that enable financial advisors to deliver compliant and comprehensive financial advice so that their retail clients and investors meet their goals. The solutions leverage Morningstar's extensive data and research capabilities across all stages of financial advice making the advice process compliant, efficient and effective.
The Role:
The Morningstar AdviserLogic - Apart from our existing product line, we are now poised to extend our vision further to reach out to every adviser in Australia and UK who needs to plan and manage financial goals of their clients and access financial advice tools seamlessly with the help of cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities:
- Own the development and technical specifications (including architecture) of the product
- Refactor subsystems/components of the product along with maintaining the current live version
- Responsible for analysis of current application/product - performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem and designing solutions to problematic code.
- Provide solutions to improvise performance and scalability of systems.
- Ensure scalability and testability of the product and its subsystems
- Attending all relevant scrum events and ceremonies
- Help product manager in detailing the user stories/tasks in Jira
- Mentor team members
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in full-stack web development using .NET and JavaScript frameworks.
- Expertise in .NET Core / ASP.NET MVC / Web API / C#.
- Proficiency in Vue.js (or any other modern JavaScript frameworks) and front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript).
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services or any other cloud services
- Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Entity Framework, Dapper).
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems like Git.
- Working experience in Test driven development (TDD).
- Working experience in SOLID principles.
- Experience and understanding of Agile Development methodologies, especially Scrum.
- Fast learner, open to learning new technologies when needed.
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
- Self-directed and detail oriented.
