All about the role:
As Lead SRE Engineer, you will report directly to the Platform Engineering and SRE Engineering Manager.
The Lead Engineer will be part of our Cloud Native organization, will work closely with our Product teams in eCommerce, Digital Marketing and other Consumer solutions and be involved in the full Software Lifecyle. We already have a solid, modern Engineering foundation and want to continuously improve in a dynamic, iterative manner.
This is both a creative and a detail-oriented role in a very multicultural environment. We want you to be bursting with opinions and passionate about sharing, as well as executing them in a collaborative way.
About the CDI Experience Organization:
The Consumer Direct Interaction Experience Organization is a Digital Product Organization responsible for delivering tech solutions to our end-users and consumers across both pre-purchase and post-purchase journeys. We are organized in 15+ digital product areas, providing solutions ranging from Contact Center, E-commerce, Marketing, and Identity to AI. You will play a key role in ensuring the right sizing, right skillset, and core competency across these product areas.

What you’ll do:
Deeply understand SRE principles and practices with real world implementation experience.
Lead teams through complex projects, mentor engineers, and stay ahead of the latest industry trends and technologies. Enjoy working in a team, be open minded, confident but humble.
Have proven experience navigating through a stack from the perspective of SRE including:
- Observability frameworks and platforms such as Datadog, Azure monitor and CNCF projects.
- Enterprise SaaS and PaaS systems in the eCommerce, Finance and Logistics arenas.
- Performance and Load testing tools such as Blazemeter (this is more about strategic oversight than technical work).Enjoy dividing their time between engineering work, strategic work and collaborative work.
Want their ideas to come to life, which includes being comfortable making hard decisions, articulating them and having the drive to see them through to completion in a team setting.
Work closely with developers and cross functional teams to choose the appropriate design solutions.
Ensure that the technical components of the project are in sync with the business needs of the organization.
Define SLOs and SLIs, oversee Error Budgets, with an eye on continuous improvement.
Mandate everything-as-code (no point and click).

Who are you:
Expert in various Cloud Native patterns and methodologies, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and security.
Computer Science/Software Engineering related degree.
10+ years of work experience working with Production, scalable distributed system landscapes.
Extensive experience with Cloud Computing (Azure preferrable).
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
Experience with SAP systems.
Strong understanding of Datadog RUM.
