Your key responsibilities

  • A hands-on architect working across boundaries in a globally distributed team. Owns and creates cutting edge data intensive architectures applications and platforms that are deployed on a hybrid cloud platform for Compliance Technology including system software, frameworks, algorithms, strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and ability to develop and test code.
  • Responsible for overall application and platform health from software, hardware, process, compliance related processes and act as a SPOC in case of issues and queries.
  • Coding, testing with excellent documentation as necessary using best practices in alignment with quality standards. Guide teams as necessary. Verifies the developed source code by reviews (4-eyes principle). Perform RCA for defects & fixes software bugs.
  • Provides Level 3 support for technical infrastructure components (i.e., databases, middleware and user interfaces).
  • Ensures that all code changes end up in Change Items (CIs). Where applicable, develops routines to deploy CIs to the target environments.
  • Supports creation of Software Product Training Materials, Software Product User Guides, and Software Product Deployment Instructions and checks consistency of the documentation in alignment with software product release.
  • Able to manage project deliverables in Agile manner and drive agile practices within the team. Aware of different agile models and industry standards

Your skills and experience

  • More than 14+ Years of technology experience with a minimum of 3 years involved in architecture, design, and production deployment of large-scale distributed systems on any of the cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, IBM)
  • Has extensive working knowledge on hyper-scalers and large data centric platforms such as Hadoop, Ceph etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and communication skills with fluency in English (written / verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery and with distributed teams. Navigating conflicts and distilling from fuzzy requirements are important to have .
  • Mandatory solid architecting and coding skills in the following areas:

    Demonstratable expertise in the following types of architectures and patterns: Distributed System Architecture, Microservices architecture, Hybrid and Multi Cloud Architectures, Data Lake and Lakehouse architecture, Enterprise Architecture and AI platform architectures. Well versed with the various cloud-based design patterns and Well Architected Frameworks.

    Solid coding skills in Java or Python with the ability to write and perform Unit Testing. Ability to integrate with DevOps tool chains.

    Familiarity with Open-Source frameworks and platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Sprint Cloud, Spring Boot, NoSQL Data stores, caching frameworks, Kubernetes, Docker and build tools such as Maven/Gradle.

    Strong understanding of messaging frameworks such as Kafka and its connector eco-system.

    Drive API first culture with strong understanding of Open API Standards, REST, GRPC, GraphQL.

    Understanding of complex data processing pipelines including batch, streaming, Kappa and Lambda architectures. Ability to identify optimization requirements in the data processing or deployment pipelines.

    Basic understanding of Data Quality dimensions like Consistency, Completeness, Accuracy, Lineage etc.

    Hands on development experience with Hadoop and Batch systems using Spark

    Knowledge of docker and containerized application development

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Excellent team player and an ability to influence across boundaries.

Good to have:

  • Has Investment banking background with understanding of banking and financial industry.
  • Hands on experience on GCP services such as Dataproc, Composer, Big Query, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes etc.
  • Understands Domain Driven Design approach and its impact.
  • Understands advanced of Data Observability with exposure to tools and methodologies.
  • Implementation of data observability in data lakes is an added advantage. Is aware of the latest trends in areas of AI/ML and its implantation and/or has worked with Vertex AI, Sagemaker or build custom ML Platforms.
