Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal guidance across the company. This role is crucial for navigating the complex regulatory landscape of cryptocurrency and foreign exchange markets, managing corporate legal affairs, and providing strategic advice to support our rapid global growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Regulatory & Compliance Leadership:
- Lead compliance efforts with global financial regulations, including rules for cryptocurrency, forex trading, and anti-money laundering.
- Manage the company's licensing requirements across different jurisdictions.
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and represent the company in regulatory matters.
- Develop and implement internal compliance policies and training programs.
- Commercial & Corporate Law:
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including partnership, service, and licensing contracts.
- Provide legal support for fundraising activities, M&A, and other strategic transactions.
- Corporate Governance & IP Management:
- Manage corporate legal affairs, including board meetings and maintenance of all corporate records and documentation.
- Oversee the company’s intellectual property strategy and the protection of its technology assets.
- Legal Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks across all business operations and products.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Must-haves:
- A law degree and be a member in good standing with a relevant Bar Association.
- 8+ years of legal experience, with significant experience in fintech or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of cryptocurrency regulations, forex trading laws, cross-border payments, and financial services regulations.
- Experience with international regulatory frameworks and cross-border transactions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
