Join our Legal Entity Controller role as an Associate where you will have direct impact on the firm!
As a Legal Entity Controller, Associate within our dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of legal entities. Your work will span across various business lines, products, and operational areas, directly influencing the firm's Legal Entity financials and regulatory reporting. You will be operating in a robust control environment, handling local regulatory reporting and monthly closing processes, offering you a wide array of responsibilities and potential for growth.
Job Responsibilities:
- Approve accounting entries
- Ensure the overall integrity of financial statements under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Japan GAAP
- Prepare local regulatory reports
- Support ad hoc queries and requests from management, auditors or regulators
- Coordinate with various teams such as Product Controllers, Financial Controllers, Business Managers, and Operations, etc.
- Keep track of assigned business results for booking accuracy
- Analyze revenue under Management accounting
- Monitor currency hedge processes
- Support new business initiatives
- Seek better control procedures which can be justified by cost/benefit analysis
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Native level Japanese and basic level English
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Understanding of financial products such as shorting, margin trade, security borrowing /lending, options, swap, forwards and futures, etc.
- GAAP knowledge (Japan GAAP and/or US GAAP)
- Regulatory reporting knowledge
- J-CPA, CFA and/or FRM holders are plus
