A thorough understanding of Linux operating system principles, including memory management, virtualization, important file systems, and containerization technologies.
Strong background in automation frameworks, configuration management technologies (like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or SaltStack), and shell programming languages (like Python or Bash scripts).
Proficiency in monitoring resource use, adjusting configuration to increase efficiency, and making configuration changes to fine-tune system performance.
The capacity to efficiently manage storage systems and the understanding of various file systems and storage device kinds.
Experience automating the deployment and scaling of applications across multiple hosts using container orchestration solutions such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other IT professionals across various departments to ensure smooth communication between development and operations teams.
Proactive attitude towards staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends to continuously improve infrastructure security posture and operational efficiency.
Previous experience as a UNIX System Administrator.
Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX operating systems, storage environments, file systems, and network protocols.
Detailed knowledge of UNIX principles, file editing, UNIX commands, and file manipulation.
Familiarity with UNIX, LINUX, and LINUX shell scripting.
Solaris & AIX knowledge
Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs, and UDP.
Understanding of backup procedures and storage management.
Installing and upgrading UNIX system software on company servers and computers.
Creating UNIX file systems.
Setting up and maintaining UNIX user accounts and access management systems.
Implementing network and computer system policies.
