Position Summary
Required Experience
- 6 years as a Data Engineer on a data, analytics, or data science team
- Proven track record in defining, managing, and delivering data infrastructure projects
- Experience leading a data engineering team
- Experience with building streaming pipelines at scale using Spark
- Advanced experience with AWS cloud services
- Advanced working SQL experience as well as performance tuning
- Experience with data pipeline workflow management tools such as Airflow
- Experience working with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- People person, team player with a strong can-do mentality
- Proficient in data modeling principles
- Proficiency in Snowflake and other data warehousing solutions (Redshift/Big Query)
- Proficiency in Databricks
- Advanced knowledge in Python
- Knowledge and ability to write, test, and debug APIs
- Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative, and be a logical thinker
- Must be an inquisitive learner and have a thirst for improvement
- Ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making design recommendations
- Strong facilitation and consensus building skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate by simplifying complexity
- Ability to provide work guidance to junior level developers
- Enjoys higher learning and keeps track of industry best practices and trends
- Takes advantage of process and system improvement opportunities through acquired knowledge
