About Team

We are Automation, AI and Data (AAD) team that caters to data engineering and analytics, automation and AI solutions for various groups and divisions within Thermofisher Scientific.

What will you do?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Engineering Manager to lead our artificial intelligence engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in AI/ML and GenAI, proven leadership capabilities, and a passion for solving complex problems with innovative AI solutions. You will be responsible for managing a team of AI engineers, overseeing project delivery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive AI initiatives aligned with business goals.

Job Functions

• Lead and mentor a team of AI and GenAI engineers in designing, developing, and deploying AI-driven products and solutions.

• Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams to define requirements and drive successful project execution.

• Ensure best practices in AI/ML model development, testing, validation, and deployment.

• Manage timelines, priorities, and resources for AI projects to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI/ML, Generative AI and bring new ideas and innovations into the team.

• Set clear goals, manage performance, and support career development for team members.

• Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

How will you get here?

Education

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field 

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Software engineering with at least 3 years in AI/ML-focused roles.

• 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.

• Deep understanding of LLMs, transformers, diffusion models, GANs, or other generative model architectures.

• Strong expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).

• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with cloud-based ML platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Experience with deploying AI models into production environments (cloud or on-prem).

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills. Knowledge of ethical AI frameworks and responsible AI principles.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to mentor AI/ML teams.

• Experience in agile development methodologies to deliver solutions and product features.
