Bright was founded in 2019 by a founding team from McKinsey’s Banking Practice (Petko Plachkov and Avi Patchava) and InMobi Data Scientists (Varun Modi and Avi Patchava). The core team is ex-InMobi Engineering and Data Sciences, recently joined by senior leaders from McKinsey. Bright is a data-driven, fast-paced execution culture that will build a Global Consumer FinTech, all functions operating from India.
What is the team & role about?
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager with strong, proven experience in accounting and auditing both are non-negotiable requirements for this role.
The role will own accounting closures, financial reporting, statutory compliance, audits, MIS, and cash-flow monitoring. The Finance Manager will also support the CFO/VP Finance on budgeting, business planning, fundraising, investor reporting, and finance-transformation initiatives.
What will you do?Accounting, Auditing & Compliance
Own day-to-day accounting and monthly, quarterly quarterly, and annual financial closures.
Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, MIS reports, and variance analyses.
Lead statutory, internal, and tax audits, including audit preparation and timely closure of observations.
Ensure compliance with Ind AS, taxation, FEMA, and other applicable statutory requirements.
Maintain strong financial controls, SOPs, and audit-ready documentation.
FP&A & Business Partnering
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and working-capital management.
Partner with business teams to monitor budgets, understand performance, and improve cost efficiency.
Support the evaluation of new initiatives, unit economics, and return on investment.
Strategic Finance & Automation
Support the CFO/VP Finance with board reporting, investor updates, fundraising, and due diligence.
Contribute to ERP implementation, reporting automation, and finance-process improvements.
Partner with Product, Data, and Technology teams to improve financial-data accuracy and integration.
5-8 years of relevant experience, with strong hands-on ownership of accounting and audits.
Chartered Accountant qualification is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Ind AS, taxation, and Indian statutory requirements; exposure to US GAAP is an advantage.
Proven experience managing financial closures, financial statements, statutory audits, and internal controls.
Experience in a fintech, consumer-tech, SaaS, or internet-based company is preferred.
Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting or ERP platforms such as Tally and QuickBooks.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with a hands-on approach.

Meaningful relationships with key journalists and industry influencers.
