As HR Business Partner for Bangalore Research & Development HST (BRD), the incumbent is expected to embed HR vision that aligns with the India / Site HR Vision and the Global GBU specific R&D strategic plan. As a key member of the GBU Site Leadership Team, the person will also provide leadership, guidance, counselling & partnership to Site Leader for the GBU R&D team and also to the respective GBU R&D vertical leads in BRD. He/ She will utilize solid understanding of HR theories and practices over a broad range of functional disciplines to manage complex projects or programs.

  • Effectively communicate and realize vision and strategy for the GBU / Function organization that aligns with the business and functional needs.
  • Ability to guide and partner with many GBU functional and technical managers/leaders in the site towards ensuring people and HR process accountability and operational excellence.
  • Ensures that succession planning and talent pipeline is in place for technical and functional leadership across the GBU functions and/or technical disciplines.
  • Partner and collaborate with global HR business partners and teams in the respective GBU / Functions to drive a uniform people approach and in alignment with global talent processes.
  • Effectively engage and work with GBU leaders for specific business and functional verticals on HR programs and processes.
  • Work with Compensation CoE and Business Leaders to define comparator basket for relevant job families and roles and align on market mid-points so as to have a competitive edge in hiring and retaining talent in R&D organization.
  • Responsible for monitoring industry best practices and liaison with Compensation CoE and HR Operations to explore market relevant and effective employee benefits, policies and practices.
  • Collaborate and work with country as well as global R&D Talent Management to plan and execute relevant initiatives for the site.
  • Guide people managers to deploying Baxter’s processes and build capability for enhancing managerial effectiveness on an ongoing basis.
  • Applies deep knowledge of HR and employee lifecycle management to effectively drive specific initiatives aligned with Global, Regional and India HR strategy to build a best place to work.
  • Deep understanding of Indian labor laws and ensure 100% compliance working with HR Operations and external partner.
  • Contribute in developing an organizational culture that propagates the company’s values.
  • Provide inputs/counseling to employees regarding career growth, performance, and other work - related areas. Extend support/ guidance to their managers/ supervisors on the same.
  • Build and demonstrate basic business understanding of R&D functions and sub-functions across a multi-site level.
  • Should have worked in matrixed organizations. Courage and comfort in engaging senior leaders. Consulting and problem solving skills; coaching and facilitation skills; collaborative & assertive; Strong customer orientation; Flexibility and open-mindedness
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and change

Qualification:

  • Post Graduate in Human Resources with an overall experience of at least 10 years including 2-3 years of HRBP role in an R&D environment.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of all HR disciplines including applicable labor laws.
