OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

The ZeroFox Physical Security Intelligence team at ZeroFox provides ongoing physical security intelligence to our clients in a 24x7, 365 days per year operation. Physical violence is a nonstop phenomenon, and we must be able to provide our clients with quick and valuable intel. Our analysts provide our customers with situational awareness to make fast security decisions. We are looking for information regarding physical violence rather than information security. 


Serving as a Manager for the Physical Security Intelligence Team at ZeroFox, you will help lead a team of analysts and assist in generating intelligence. You will need to be experienced in physical security monitoring, and understand major physical security threats worldwide. We expect every member of our team to understand various social media sources and be exceptionally familiar with how people operate within these networks. Additionally, we expect all our team members to be well-versed in current events in relation to active violent conflicts, and to be familiar with violent threat actor groups on a global scale. As a leader for the team, you must demonstrate subject matter expertise in physical security and be able to drive our team’s efforts in research and leading our team’s focus. 


As Manager, you will be responsible for creating OKRs and driving our process forward to meet our operational goals. You must have the ambition to lead others, train others, and communicate in a very collaborative environment. 


Our team must handle intense time pressure and understand the gravity of the material we report on; our leaders within the Team must understand this goal and assist with our team’s expectations. Discretion, teamwork, commitment, and a sense of urgency are a must.

Role and responsibilities

  • Handle independent projects related to improving our process and provide timely results
  • Works closely with Leadership team on specific projects
  • Contribute to the creation of OKRs and business objectives
  • Train new members in the team and provide guidance 
  • Evaluate and help to improve our collection of relevant and permissible data sources to support our ability to identify possible physical security risks to organizations and executives
  • Provide escalation support including on-call duty which may include weekends and nights
  • Research of general and emerging physical security threats and trends
  • Provide qualified feedback to engineering, configuration, customer success, and other operational teams
  • Collaborate with team members in an effective manner.
  • Work on a shift schedule which could include consistent rotating night shifts or weekends.
  • Ad hoc event and crisis coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications and skills

  • xperience working within a Threat Intel or SOC operations team, typically obtained in 7+ years
  • Experience as a Team Lead or Management within a Threat Intel or SOC operations team
  • Ability to lead others by example and through collaborative communication
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience..
  • Awareness of general political and social trends both domestically and internationally
  • Awareness of general trends in violence on a global scale
  • Subject-matter expertise around physical security threats ranging from indiscriminate violence to targeted ideological incursions
  • Deep understanding of social media and how people speak and communicate on various social networks
  • Ability to learn our internal workflows, products, proprietary and third-party tools
  • Ability to track and address multiple conflicting assignments on a daily basis
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving and communications skills including verbal, written, presentation
  • Ability to stay engaged during repetitive, detail-oriented tasks
  • Strong sense of self-motivation and desire for growth
  • Capability to give and receive constructive feedback

Desired qualifications and skills

  • Past experience in conducting OSINT methodology across social media networks, including both mainstream and obscure sources
  • Proficiency in at least one additional language besides English. Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or a Chinese language 
  • College degree in a field related to international security, political science, journalism, or a similar degree which focuses on human conflict; or 4 years of similar work experience is a bonus.
